Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters

Background:

Business Takes Action (BTA) is a Best Practices program of Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME), Canada’s largest trade and industry association. BTA showcases the benefits of hiring and retaining candidates with disabilities to promote employment inclusivity to small and medium-sized businesses in all sectors. BTA is a program preferred by many businesses. It offers workshops, webinars and guidebooks, serving as a one-stop forum for Ontario businesses on employing and retaining people with disabilities. Approximately one in seven Canadians – 4.4 million adults and children – are living with a disability.

Target Audiences:

The primary target audience is small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that have a staff of over 20 and under 500. Focus on the individual responsible for hiring such as an HR person, decision maker, executive or principal. 73% of SME owners in Ontario are between 40 and 64 years old and the majority are male. 63% have a university or post-secondary degree. Most business owners wear many hats within the company and are looking for easy and simple workplace solutions.
